When our patient first walked through the doors of our clinic, she was overwhelmed with
fear and pain. She had been silently suffering from multiple decayed and missing teeth and
came in complaining of severe pain in her lower right back tooth. But what stood out even
more than her dental condition was her intense anxiety — the kind where even sitting in the
dental chair felt impossible. In fact, she showed what we call “Frankel’s definitely negative
behavior,” a strong indicator of deep-rooted dental fear.
We started slow — with compassion and trust. Her emergency was managed first, with the
gentle extraction of her painful wisdom tooth under nitrous oxide (laughing gas). Once she
realized she was in safe hands, she opened up to the idea of a complete smile
transformation. Her mouth told a tough story: multiple cavities, several missing teeth, and a desperate need for structured rehabilitation as it hindered her confidence to smile.
After a thorough consultation and review of her existing dental X-rays, we offered her two
options: a limited plan with a few extractions and crowns under IV sedation, or a
comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia (GA) — one that would
not just fix her smile, but transform her quality of life.
She bravely chose the comprehensive route.
The treatment journey was carefully staged and carried out by our multidisciplinary team.
Root canal treatments were done painlessly on her front teeth. Our implant surgeon placed
premium Neodent Helix Acqua implants in both upper and lower jaws to replace her missing
teeth. After this, crown preparations were completed, and we temporarily restored her
smile with natural-looking provisional crowns to help her adjust and heal.
For someone who once couldn’t bear the thought of a dental visit, her transformation was
nothing short of incredible. With every stage, her confidence grew. She smiled more, asked
questions, and began to take pride in her oral health. Today, as we prepare for the final
phase of her treatment — the placement of permanent crowns — she walks into the clinic
not with fear, but with excitement.
This story is not just about dental implants or crowns. It's about the power of trust,
teamwork, and tailored care. For us, the greatest reward wasn't just restoring her teeth — it
was helping her rediscover her smile and reclaim her confidence.
Today, that same patient walks into our clinic with a smile — not just a restored dental smile, but one of confidence and trust. Through patience, empathy, and carefully tailored care, we were able to not only address her dental issues but also help her overcome the deep anxiety that once held her back. Her journey reminds us that healing goes beyond procedures; it begins with understanding, and it thrives in a space where patients feel safe and heard. We are honored to have been a part of her transformation.
